Abstract

Abstract: This research seeks to bring to discussion the concepts of family created throughout history, in an investigation of their representation in the narratives of Brazilian children's literature, with emphasis on the work Uma, Duas, Três Princesses, by Ana Maria Machado. This is a study, of a bibliographic nature and critical analysis of the topic, whose main references are the family models proposed by Zilberman (2012) and the childhood studies of Ariès (2012). This work is divided into two sections: the first presents how family and childhood are structured throughout history and the second section investigates the way in which the modern family is represented by authors of national children's literature, taking as an example the work of Ana Maria Machado who, similar to the literature Contemporary Brazilianism seeks to represent the emancipated family, revealing another relationship between parents and children, which is not based on authoritarianism and children's dependence. In this new children's literature project, we seek to deconstruct prejudices and value children and different family constitutions.
