ROOTS OF KNOWLEDGE: BLACK FEMINIST PEDAGOGIES AND TEACHING PRACTICES

The research addresses pedagogical questions aimed at recognizing the construction of Afro-centered education, offering a deep analysis of Afro-feminist knowledge in the educational context. This article seeks to expand the spaces of knowledge production and engage with the historical and social roots of Black feminist pedagogies. The study highlights the challenges and forms of resistance of Black women, addressing the concept of "escrevivência" and the fight against the epistemicide of Black literature, with Conceição Evaristo's book "Olhos d’água" as the primary work. The research emphasizes the importance of recognizing Afro-Brazilian and African culture in the school curriculum, promoting Law 10.639/2003, and proposes the deconstruction of gender and racial stereotypes through conscious pedagogical practices. In the field of science and technology, it highlights the often-overlooked Afro-feminist contributions, advocating for the inclusion of Afro-centered perspectives, such as Black protagonism in narratives, to achieve a more diverse understanding of knowledge.
