THE MULTILATERAL ORGANIZATIONS AND PRODUCTIVE RESTRUCTURING:

THE FOCUS OF EDUCATION WITHIN THE CAPITALIST CONTEXT

Abstract

Abstract:The purpose of this article is to highlight the construction of the educational
focus within the process of capitalist restructuring, understanding the materialization
of the effects of the guidelines of multilateral organizations on education at the end of
the 20th century, and reflecting on the historical, political, and economic context of
Brazil during this period, when neoliberal initiatives began. In view of these aspects,
a qualitative approach and bibliographic and documentary research methodology
were used. In this context, it was observed that within the scenario of productive
restructuring, education takes on forms essentially based on adapting the student to
the capitalist production scenario, where the educational profile is influenced by
economic imperatives and the toyotist industrial production model linked to flexibility.
