IMPACTOS DA PANDEMIA NOS ESTUDANTES DE UMA ESCOLA PRIVADA EM FORTALEZA, CEARÁ

Abstract

This article aims to present the situation of students at a private school in Fortaleza, Ceará, after the Covid-19 pandemic, which suspended in-person activities to contain the spread of the disease. The research was qualitative, with data collected through interviews and observations at the school, referred to as School A. The study drew on authors such as Fonteles Filho, Ribeiro, and Carmo (2021), Oliveira, Lucas, and Iquiapaza (2020), and Martins and Góes (2021), who analyzed the impact of the pandemic on education. The main focus was to identify the challenges students faced when returning to in-person classes, with an emphasis on Elementary School I. The period analyzed ranged from the onset of the pandemic to the second semester of 2022. Learning gaps were highlighted, resulting from low adherence to remote learning, which caused difficulties in the transition from Early Childhood Education to the Initial Years of Elementary School. Additionally, evidence showed that family involvement was crucial to the outcomes, both positive and negative, and that school dropout was a significant consequence of this period.
